Siege Worlds — co-op horde FPS field dispatch cover

Siege Worlds is not Rainbow Six. It is not Arc Raiders. It is a free-to-play, co-op horde FPS from Games Interactive — Geoff McCabe and Jake O’Connor — that spent years pitching itself as the play-and-earn shooter that would “solve Web3 gaming.” It launched on the Epic Games Store / siegeworlds.com on July 14, 2026. Four days ago they shipped version 5.3.4 with a brand-new extraction mode. That last part is why this dispatch exists. The rest is because the floor moved since the last time we were in the room.

I streamed this game. I forged inside it. I promoted the referral link. Then I unfollowed the whole project on February 7, 2025, and called it the dumbest thing I had ever seen. Last week they posted another “look how much DIVI we paid out” flex. My reply was two words: This again? Their official account answered: No one likes you.

Still funny. Still the correct reply to a payout screenshot. Also not the whole story anymore. They kept building. AI got meaner. The drop table grew past DIVI. Alien Worlds NFTs actually do something in the match. There is a Siege Pass. There is an extract playlist. Whether any of that makes the Tuesday night worth it is a different question than whether the 2025 version is the only version that exists.

What It Actually Is

On paper: pick a hero, drop into a themed island, fight waves of monsters, vacuum glowing loot, vault it, forge four-of-a-kind into the next tier, sell or keep. Optionally hook a wallet and collect tokens that drop off kills. Play without a wallet if you want. The official line is still grinders-with-time feeding trophy-hunters-with-money. That loop did not vanish. It got more layers.

The tech boast is still HordeTek — spawn enough enemies that the screen looks like a movie siege instead of a dozen zombies jogging at you. That was always the part that belonged in a shooter conversation. Lord of the Rings battlefields, not a ticker. The difference now is the horde is not just a count. The AI on those bodies has been worked. They path, pressure, and punish the old “sprint past them and snipe the glow” beginner script more than they used to. If you are going to give this game another night, that is the reason that is not a token.

We aimed to craft a game that transforms players into cinematic heroes; envisioning a battle experience against massive hordes, like the epic scenes found in Lord of the Rings.
— Geoff McCabe, co-founder
Fun is not accidental, it is designed, and Siege Worlds was built from those principles from day one. Siege Worlds is me finally building the kind of game I always wanted to play.
— Jake O’Connor, co-founder

The islands are still sponsored skins on a shared loop. Zombie wave is the beginner farm. Bleakrock Island rides Alien Worlds / Starblind lore. Harold’s Island exists because a meme-coin grant paid for it. Nero Chain wants a Roman colosseum for bosses and PvP. The map can be a billboard and still be a better fight than it was. Those two facts can sit in the same paragraph.

What Changed Since We Walked

We left in February 2025 because the pitch was louder than the gunfight. Eighteen months later the gunfight got some of the attention it should have had first. Credit where it is due. Then we will talk about the parts that still smell like 2021.

  • AI enemies. The pack is less of a parade. Better pathing, more pressure, less “ignore the horde and loot-goblin the glow.” If HordeTek was always the claim, this is the first stretch where the claim has a chance to feel like a shooter instead of a piñata.
  • Token table. DIVI is no longer the only chip falling off a corpse. WAX is in the mix. Sponsored islands can pay their own coin. More rails does not automatically mean a healthier game. It does mean the drop layer is less of a single-token science fair.
  • Alien Worlds NFT hook. This is the integration that actually touches the match. Hold / equip the right Alien Worlds tools — the shovel is the one people talk about — and drop rates move. Cross-game item with a job. That is more interesting than a splash screen and a grant tweet.
  • Siege Pass. Live as of v5.2.1. Lifetime Alpha price they posted at £2.99 a month. Can be unlocked with USDT on Solana. This brand does not organize a life around battle passes. Note it, do not build the night around it, do not pretend it is invisible.
  • Extraction mode. 5.3.4. Official copy: loot is yours if you survive to the end and extract. That is the first mode language that maps onto what this channel actually plays.

None of that erases the marketplace. Four matching weapons still go in the forge. Speed characters still win the beginner script. The house still takes a cut. What it does is stop us from reviewing a 2025 screenshot and calling it 2026.

How the Loop Actually Works

Their own beginner guide is still more honest than the homepage. You spawn with a pistol. Speed beats health. Nakano, Bonnie, or Jock. You sprint, you snipe thirty-second drops after somebody else makes the corpse, you dump the vault, you forge. That skeleton is intact. The meat on it is thicker: meaner AI, a shovel that changes the drop math if you brought your Alien Worlds kit, more than one token on the floor, and an extract playlist that claims the bag is not real until you make the door.

  • Combat fantasy: hold a line against a movie-sized horde that actually hunts.
  • Beginner loop: still a loot goblin. Less free than it used to be if the AI is doing its job.
  • Progression: 4-of-a-kind forge, ore substitutes, story portals shave the recipe.
  • Money layer: peer-to-peer market, Siege Pass on the side, DIVI / WAX / partner coins off kills, NFT tools that juice the table.

The Extraction Patch

August 22, 2026. Patch 5.3.4. Official copy: “a brand new extraction game mode. Test your skill against our most challenging game mode yet; the loot is yours to keep if you can survive to the end and extract.”

That sentence is doing a lot of work, and this time it might be earned. Extraction is the only mode language that maps onto Arc Raiders, Marathon, anything where the bag is not real until you make the bird. If they attached real risk to the vacuum — die and the shovel bonus, the WAX, the forged rifle all stay on the floor — that is a structural change worth a session. If “extract” means “survive the last wave and keep what you already vacuumed,” it is a coat of paint. We will not know which one it is from a patch tweet.

I have not run 5.3.4 on stream. I will not pretend I have. An extraction mode inside a 7,000-player Web3 horde shooter is not a competitor to Arc Raiders. It does not have to be. It has to answer one question: does the loot get heavy when you can lose it. If the AI is actually hunting and the extract is real, this becomes a weird little field test instead of a nostalgia errand. That is allowed.

Pitch Versus Floor — Updated

  • Cinematic LOTR-scale hordes → Low-spec FPS, sponsored islands, better AI on the pack. Spectacle was always the claim. The AI work is the first real down payment.
  • Play free, earn on drops → DIVI + WAX + partner coins. Wallet still optional. More rails. Still other people’s FOMO underneath. Play the shooter, not the spreadsheet.
  • Alien Worlds crossover → NFT tools in-match. Shovel talked up for drop rate. This is the hook that belongs in a loadout conversation, not a press release.
  • Siege Pass → £2.99/mo Alpha. Crypto unlock on Solana USDT. Exists. We do not build nights around passes. Ignore it and the core loop still runs.
  • Extraction is the hard mode → Announced in 5.3.4. Not independently proven. The right experiment. Proof is a wipe clip, not a patch note.
  • Solved Web3 onboarding → Telegram bot + DiviGo. Play without a wallet. Fine. Skip the wallet. Always skip the wallet unless you like extra homework.

Where This Sits Next to GENX → NEXT

This brand does not live on battle passes. We do not sell “earn while you play” as a substitute for a fight that respects your night. That line does not move. Siege Worlds still organizes a lot of systems around a marketplace and a drop table. That is the part we already said no to in 2025, and it is still there.

What moved is the possibility that the shooter underneath those systems got better at being a shooter. Meaner AI. A bag that might actually be at risk. A shovel from another game that changes the math in this one. Small teams get to keep swinging. Persistence is not taste, but persistence plus a better horde is not nothing. We do not have to pre-write the ending for them. We also do not have to become the referral account again.

Could you ignore the token layer and just shoot the horde? Yes. Epic still says so. That is the only honest way to touch it. The second you start optimizing for DIVI, WAX, or pass tiers, you are playing their spreadsheet. The shovel is the exception that proves the rule — an item that changes the gunfight and the table at the same time. Judge it in a match, not in a marketplace tab.

The History on This Channel — Receipts

December 29, 2024: I went live to forge the first AAA Level 7 weapon in the game and talked HordeTek, the comics, and the gatherers-and-trophy-hunters economy like it might be a real design. February 2025: multiple solo and group streams, referral link in the post, “dropping double loot and melting zombies.” February 7, 2025: I watched one of their “how easy it is to earn $DIVI” videos and walked. Publicly. Unfollowed the project. Called it ridiculous.

That sequence still matters. Curiosity is allowed. Staying after you see the trick is not. The August 21, 2026 payout post was the same trick with a bigger number. “This again?” is still the correct editorial position on a flex tweet. “No one likes you” is free advertising for the fact that they would rather clap back than post a wipe. Both can be true while the build on the other side of that tweet is not the build we left.

Verdict

As a horde shooter: a small, low-spec co-op wave game that spent a year and a half putting more fight into the pack. Worth a look if the extract is real and the AI is doing what they say. Not a replacement for anything on the current rotation. Not a joke either, not anymore, not automatically.

As a Web3 product: still a two-class farm with more coins on the floor and an NFT shovel in the kit. Beginners supply inventory. Spenders buy power. House takes a fee. Play it as a shooter or do not play it.

As content for M1LL3NN1UM: one session, max, framed as an audit of 5.3.4 — AI pressure, shovel drops, extract risk. Title it like a field test, not a launch party. If the bag dies on a wipe and the horde hunts, we say so. If it is still a piñata, we say that and we are done. We do not run the referral link. We already did that tour.

Call Sheet

  • Play it? Optional. Wallet off. One night. Extraction playlist. Bring the shovel if you have one.
  • Buy the Siege Pass? Your money. Not a recommendation from this desk. Core loop runs without it.
  • Promote it? No referral links. No “earn while you slay” copy. The dispatch is the piece.
  • Stream it? One field test of 5.3.4. Metrics: does AI pressure, do NFT tools matter, does loot die on a wipe.
  • Compare it to Arc Raiders? Do not. Different weight class. Different job. Judge the extract on its own terms.
  • Future? Unwritten. They kept shipping. We will grade the next patch the same way we graded this one: in the match.

If You Run the One-Session Audit

Time box: one weekday block. Not a weekend burn. Loadout from zero, wallet disconnected, extraction playlist only. If you own the Alien Worlds shovel, equip it and watch the table. Talk while you play. Three questions on screen the whole time: is the pack hunting, does the shovel change the night, is the bag heavy.

Stream title:
SIEGE WORLDS 5.3.4 — They Said Extraction. We’re Checking the Bag.

Small teams get to swing. They do not get a rewrite of 2025 because the patch notes got longer. They do get credit when the horde starts acting like a horde and the bag might actually scare you on the way to the door. Token economies are still how you ruin a Tuesday if you let them run the night. A shovel that changes drops and an extract that changes risk are how you leave the door cracked.

If 5.3.4 made the loot heavy and the pack hunt, say so. If it did not, say that louder. The job is not to grow their Discord. The job is to tell the next kid watching whether this thing respects the hours they do not have — and to admit when the thing in front of us is not the thing we quit.
